HOM Art Trans is an independent art space that seek to assist and support the development of visual art in Malaysia and facilitates networking with the Southeast Asian counterparts.

 

HOM’s core objective is to promote Malaysia Art and nurture young artists through its key programmes, namely: The Residency, The Art Fund and The Art Award.

 

Founded in 2007, the artist-run-space currently comprises of a gallery, a studio and an art archive.

BAYU UTOMO RADJIKIN

Bayu Utomo Radjikin is perhaps one of the most ‘complete’ Malaysian artists around. This is because he has become quite a master in the art scene being known as a fine artist, contemporary artist, pop artist, sculptor and many others. The main highlight about Bayu’s work is that they are all of top quality where he has become quite an expert in the various fields he has ventured into. Bayu, born in 1969 from Tawau in Sabah holds a B.A (Hons) in Fine Art from the University Technology Mara, Shah Alam and has won various awards and accolades throughout his art career. His works is known to be highly abstract and cultural

Exhibitions and Awards: Bayu Utomo Radjikin or known in short as Bayu has established himself as one of the major Malaysian artists of his time. Since obtaining his degree in Fine Art, Bayu has continued on to produce art for the Malaysian scene where he has won awards and held exhibitions. In 1995 and 1994, his works received Honourable Mention at the Phillip Morris Asean Art Awards organized by the National Art Gallery. He was also one of the major award recipients of the Young and Contemporary Artists by the Gallery

MIMIE BAHARUDDIN

Mimie Baharuddin is at the forefront of Malaysian art events and management. Working since 2008 under the label of HOM Art Trans (previously known as House of MATAHATI), Mimie specializes in managing personnel as well as group-based curatorial and management efforts. Active throughout Southeast Asia, Mimie is also experienced in handling international exhibitions and residency program, including projects at United Kingdom (UK) and United States of America (USA).

 

Born in the southern parts of Malay Peninsula, Mimie is at the centre of the cultural crossroads within the Asian region. Graduated with a degree in Administration and Marketing, however, it is in the field of Fine Arts that appealed to her. As her arena of choice, she injects her passion into the management and advancement of Fine Arts field.

 

Among the artists and projects that benefited under her management are Bayu Utomo Radjikin (HOM Director), the MATAHATI Collective, HOM Residency (SAGE Residency (SAGER), International Residency (INTERes) & Artists Residency (A-Res)), Matahati Art Award (Malaysia Emerging Artist Award), and Matahati Art Fund (Artriangle).
